The Greenest Heroes Ever

You know for the time being I really like DC Heroes. I read them a lot. I even collected them, some in comics, some in action figures. Well most people kept saying that it was just a phase that I’d certainly pass like when you were a kid, you idolized Red Ranger from Power Rangers but when you grew up, you gave up on them. Really, I am not like that. To me, DC universe is bigger than power ranger. Each heroes in DC has his/her own complicated life that is tied with the other one. Maybe, the only universe can beat DC is Marvel Universe.
Just yesterday I watched one of DC heroes visualized into a movie: The Green Lantern. My expectation to this movie was really high. It was because there was no green lantern that’s visualized into a movie before until now. We can name Superman, Wonder Woman, or Batman that have been remade several times. I think it’s worth waiting for its debut.
Here we go, when my expectation met the ultimate green lantern corps:
The story begins when Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) is chosen by the ring and transported to the crash site of spacecraft. It’s Abin Sur’s (Temura Morrison) spacecraft. He’s the Green Lantern that has imprisoned Parallax (voiced by Clancy Brown) in the Lost Sector on the ruined planet Ryut. Parallax is made of fear-essence that can endanger the entire universe. Somehow, Parallax manages escaping from Ryut and attacks Sector 2814 which is Abin Sur’s sector and Parallax successfully wounds Abin Sur who escape and crash-lands on Earth. While dying, Abin Sur commands his ring to find his successor on Earth and it chooses Hal. Hal is the test pilot for Ferris Aircraft. You can find the complete story herehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Lantern_(film)
And now i am going mention two crucial things about Green Lantern Movie failed to deliver, one is major and the other one is minor:
1. The Plot, as a big fan of Green Lantern, it only took 10 minutes of the beginning of the movie that the plot had been adapted in so many ways. The comic plot did not match with the movie Plot. Hal Jordan was first introduced in 1960 in Silver Age Green Lantern and it was so different with the movie. On the movie, The crash-land Abin Sur's spaceship was on Coast City bay while on the comic it was on a desert around California. And the other one is when Sinestro and Kilowog found Hal fooling around using the power of Green Lantern on Earth.
2. The Costume, I know that the Green Latern glows with green light but i did not expect that the costume would be as cheapy as the poster below. i know the costume must glow but it glows like nightclubs neon. it tickles me.
Well, in the end, eventhough i am quite dissapointed with the movie, i still feel happy to see the movie, not as a big fan of Green Lantern. At least, the oath - my favorite scene- is said several times. here it is:

"In brightest day, in blackest night,
No evil shall escape my sight
Let those who worship evil's might,
Beware my power... Green Lantern's light!"
